一个全新的旅程 “神与我们同在” Emmanuel

好久沒写教会的心路历程了。。。是时候在这11月2017年为教会留下一点的历史的足迹给未来的人。

金灯台浸信教会过去在新山五福城2010年植堂经历风雨成长的7年。现在终于迈向应许之地,展开一个全新的旅程,一个全新广大的聚会地点在2A-2B, Jalan Kempas Utama 3/3。教会也将于2018年开始一个只有神才能完成的大任务,那便是开办光合基督学院 LUCA  Academy, A homeschooling & Learning Center。教会所投入的人力与物力是超过我们的计划，但我们坚信神的呼招与应许, 除了接触人群, 也为要建造我们的下一代能活出真理, 独立思考特出並有品德。

这就像当初神如何带领约书亚进入迦南应许之地,当时约书亚约85岁了，但神与他们同在,在迦南地有7年的连续战斗並不断得胜,接下来的24建设,也为未来的大卫建国之路打下了最好的根基。基督徒一生的路程都是信心的路程，你唯有走出个人的舒适地带,才能在信心上经历神，有如亚伯拉罕顺服神离乡背井才能称为信心之父。许多基督徒经历不到神,主要是他喜欢走自己的路即偏行己路,其实神只不过是他口中的口号与名字罢了。神在旷野中严格训练以色列人长达40年,停停走走，而不听神的一代人也死在旷野未能进入迦南地。

神在过去的7年与我们同在,我们也坚信神在接下来的7年会与我们同在。”以马內利”神与人同在是最大的应许，也是门徒要抓住的应许，这样我们才会不懼怕人与不丧失胆量。只要人抓住真理而行,不偏左或后,我们必会感受到神与我们同在。过去的7年,我们有说不完的见证与故事,相信未来的7年会更多。我们也将在7年后回顾这精彩的7年,我们相信这会是我们这一代人年老时最美好的回忆与故事，我们有许多的故事可以告诉我们的下一代神如何与我们同在。你也能在金灯台写下你人生的故事。

教会也有了全新的Logo,也预表新的开始。十字架的救恩与復活,耶稣神的羔羊, 圣灵与火的浇灌充滿, 神国度教会的使命。

我们祷告,凡来金灯台的人都能经历神的同在与滿滿祝福。

Happy Chinese New Year Celebration 2016 !

Praise God for the Chinese New Year Celebration !  It’s such a wonderful time to fellowship and to bless one another.  “Bless” has the meaning of “Happiness”,  our happiness is come from the Lord !   In Matthew 5:3-10, are we really happy ? Let’s examine our happiness level from Jesus’ teaching: The Beatitudes.

³ “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
    for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
⁴ God blesses those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
⁵ God blesses those who are humble,
    for they will inherit the whole earth.
⁶ God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,
    for they will be satisfied.
⁷ God blesses those who are merciful,
    for they will be shown mercy.
⁸ God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
    for they will see God.
⁹ God blesses those who work for peace,
    for they will be called the children of God.
¹⁰ God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
    for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

 

Congratulation to the 8 who completed whole Bible within a year !

Congratulation to the 8 who completed whole Bible reading within a year (2015).  Praise God !  Rom 10:17  “...faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”   A disciple is a learner, if we don’t love to read His word, how can we call ourselves a follower of Christ.  People will start following Christ only when they see we are an example for them.

Year 2016: Little Gospel’s Ambassador

Thanks God for 2015 “I Love His Word”, we have more than 20% of our members completed the whole Bible within a year, the rest either completed book of old or new testament.  It’s a great achievement for all.    Congratulation !

We have a very good beginning of our 2016 Theme: “Little Gospel’s Ambassador”, we are invited to do and preach in the LifeGame JB, and praise God for almost all 110 young participants commit themselves to be disciples for Christ, and God called more them 10% of them to involve in full-time ministries.  We are all little Ambassador of God to call His people to follow Him and commit to be the light and salt of the world.

Praise God for 2015 Dec Christmas, there are more than 120 people celebrate and worship with us in GLBC.  Our little children prepared and performed all the program, they are just like little angles and little ambassador for His Kingdom.  Praise God & He is worthy to be praise !

Let’s be a Little Gospel’s Ambassador for His Kingdom’s work.  We serve Him because He give us the opportunity to partnership with Him.  God is perfect, He doesn’t needs us to make him more perfect, therefore, serve God with a cheerful spirit.  There’s no greater things than to serve and partnership with our God, the Creator !

I Love His Word 2015

We wish you to have a wonderful time for year 2014! And Happy 2015 Chinese New Year to you !

Time flies, and it’s another year again.  I’ve experienced His grace and healing.  Last year July 2014, I was diagnosed with dengue and lost all my strength, but fortunately, I didn’t need to be admitted to hospital.  I realised how a small mosquito can steal your life if you are not aware of it.  Meantime, I need to preach five sermons in a 3 days camps (about 130 participants) a week.  Thru prayer, I experienced God giving me strength on every preaching.  After each preaching, I was exhausted and lose my strength again.  I told God no more such experiences.  Praise God for this camp, about ninety percent of the young adults responded to God to be a faithful diciple and some responded for full time ministry.  And my body also recovered during mid of the camp.  The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

In year 2014, I went for 4 oversea ministry trips which I promised God that I will go only four times max in a year.  God really arranged to my max because He knows me well enough that I would prefer to stay at my comfort zone with my family.   On the trip of Sept 2014, after we’ve finished the class, we needed to walk down from a hill for transportation.  Due to heavy traffic jams in town and with wrong estimation of time, we realised we might not have enough time to connect our next flight to another city.  We decided to take train instead of taxi to the airport.  Inside the train for nearly an hour, we prayed continuosly and our heart beats’ also getting faster.  But amazingly, we are able to reach the check-in counter 5 mins before it was closed.  While waiting for the flight, we learned news report that if we took the taxi (normally we do), then we will definitely be trapped in the traffic jam and miss the flight.  God knows things before we do.  Although the world seems to be in a lot of troubles, God is always in control. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Last Christmas 2014, we have received more than 120 people in our celebration service and many of them are first time to church and to hear the gospel.  Praise God !

Our theme for 2015, “I love His Words”.  Everyone of us has a goal to read whole bible in one year.    Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.  Mat 24:35

Continue to Grow and living by Faith

We wish you to have a wonderful time during Easter & year of 2014 !  God is good all the time.

Last year, I thanked God that He arranged all my three ministry trip to China, and I will be travelling again in May 2014.  In every trip, I really missed my family a lot.  So, I really respect those who are willing to sacrifice their family time for His kingdom work.  I also learned that we are just a traveler on earth, we shall not carry too much unnecessary things.  We shall always practice His principle of Love and remove all our unnecessary selfish love.   “All these people were still living by faith when they died. …they were foreigners and strangers on earth. Heb 11:13.”   Are we still living by faith in 2014 ?  Is our level of faith in God growing or not growing ?   “ …as your faith continues to grow,… 2 Cor 2:15.”   Our theme for 2014 is “Growing by Faith”

By faith, we served over a hundred people who celebrated with us during the Christmas of 2013, and half of them are non believers, and we thank God for the wonderful opportunity to share the gospel with them.  By faith, during the first week of 2014, we began a small English worship service & He brought His people here.  By faith, a lady (whose husband is a temple owner) decided to be baptized, also during this first week of 2014.  By faith, five more people are baptized during Easter.  They shared their wonderful testimonies with tears & joys, and it encouraged and comforted many.  Let’s pray for them and give thanks to our Almighty God !  By faith, you and I are going to have many wonderful stories again in this year of growth, 2014 !

I’m not a good writer and sometime do feel lazy to write, but I’ve a good wife who constantly reminds me to update my newsletter.  I thank God to give me such a wonderful wife to support me.  “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Prov 18:22”  Every time when I started to write the newsletter and it brings back many good memories and stories.  I could only praise and give thanks to our awesome God.   “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thes 5:18.”   Thru these years, I’ve encountered many hard situations, but I believe God allow different situation happened in our life is to train and to teach us.  Let’s give thanks in all circumstances !

2014 Faith Growing Year

 

“Emmanuel, God is with us”

We wish you to have a wonderful 2013!  Last year, we have a wonderful Christmas time to partnership with Hosanna BC for evangelism.  God wanted me to preach on a topic of “Emmanuel, God is with us”.   At the end of the service, a sister wanted to accept Christ but she just couldn’t lift up her hand.  That night she struggled & couldn’t sleep at all, the word “Emmanuel” keep ringing in her mind.  Next day, a sister followed up with her & brought her to Christ.  She rejoiced and experienced “Emmanuel”!  Now, she can sleep with peace “God is with Her”. Last week Easter time, she was baptized into God’s family.  When we faithfully sow the seed, our God will make it grow!

On January 27^th, we have a new family (3) baptized into the body of Christ & we rejoiced with them. They come to church just because they saw our Christmas fly.  There are many other beautiful stories happened during Christmas time.  The most amazing story was my father in law & he was also baptized during Christmas at his age of 82.  His family members prayed for him more than 20 years.  Prayer Work!  Don’t be discourage, keep praying for your family, relatives and friends, God will answer our prayer.  

Another story during Christmas, my wife’s uncle (a devoted Buddhist, he prays and chants everyday), he was touched by the Lord during the Christmas time and he is now accepted Christ & having weekly Bible study with us.  

Two months ago, when I was waiting for my car wash, a sixty years old man who seated next to me began to share his story.  I felt that Holy Spirit reminded me to share Jesus story to him.  I prayed & shared, later he gave me a very firm answered “Yes, I want to accept Christ as my Savior!”.  God remind us that many are lost, their hearts are desired for a love relationship with Christ. 

Today, we might be too busy in our work or even in ministry, we are tired and forgot our love relationship with Christ.  In Matt 3:4, Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”    Last week, two brothers told me that they want to join Bible study group.  They are willingly sacrificed their overtime job just to learn more of His Word and experience our God.  

Not in my plan, this year God has arranged me to China ministry trip (4 times).   You could continue to keep us in prayer for His Kingdom in Johor Bahru.  Blessings.

Mountain Experience – Sept 2012

Last week, there were one young couple visited our church and they accepted Christ after the worship service.  They were so happy and keen to attend a local church near to their living place in Selangor.  In the past, there were many people like them who accepted Christ thru GLBC, but not many could remain to worship with us due to distance.   Even though we are a young church, God still uses us to be a blessing church to others.  This year we have already baptized 8 people & hopefully 12 by year end, all of them decide to follow Christ faithfully.  Be the light of the world !

31^st Aug, a group of us climb on the Pulai Mountain (5km climb up & 5km walk down, total time spend about 4 hours).   It’s tough journey especially with adults & children together, we tend to give up halfway but we all make it together finally.   Our Christian journey is a tough journey too, but it’s a great joy when you reach the mountain top.   I realized one thing, we all have no time and no energy or too tired to gossip or criticize others while walking, we have only one common thing – Keep walking, encouraging, strengthening, and comforting one another in order to complete the race together.  Churches could be peaceful and united when everyone is walking his own journey to glorify God.  The way to Heaven is narrow but by faith, obedience, and persistence are the requirements to reach our destination.  We could choose to walk or remain at the bottom of mountain?    But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Mat 7:14)

After back home, our Indonesian house helper told us that her friend was possessed by 3 devils from last mid night until morning, there were three different voices coming out from her mouth, her eyes was red & body was really cold when she held her hand.  We also take this opportunity to help her to understand that Jesus could help them.   Sometime, we think that devil is too far beyond some of our understandings; in fact, it’s very real & close to us.  We have to prepare and equip ourselves to resist the devil.  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
